Item Description
10.5x14.5x32" tall tin litho vending display w/shelf for stacking issues of "Life" magazine. This display dates to 1936, when "Time" magazine founder Henry Luce bought the magazine, solely to acquire the rights to the name and to alter it into a weekly news magazine w/a focus on photojournalism. This publication status continued until 1972, running intermittently until 1978 and then as a monthly publication from 1978-2002. Front of display reads "The New Life Is Here - Get Your Copy," a slogan that was in use in 1936. Inside of display back reads "Get Your Copy Of Life Here!" and "Life - Get Your Copy At The Magazine Counter - On Sale Today!" Front and sides of display are designed to depict stack of magazine. Display shelf has inward warp w/bend at lower right corner and some scattered oxidation. Edges show scattered wear w/some trace oxidation and two spots w/small bends along top edge. Fine/VF. Neat display.
