Item Description
This kit is from the first year of issue but the certificate differs from both certificates offered in previous lot, item #2043. Kit includes original stiff paper envelope w/"Supermen Of America" address and inked recipient name/address, 5.5x8-3/8" welcome letter noting contents of kit and featuring classic image of Superman breaking chains, 5.5x8-7/8" cardstock "Superman's Secret Code" folder w/penciled recipient name/address and 8.5x11" certificate w/typed name, address, age and inked date at bottom. Horizontal fold at center as mailed. This certificate differs in that it does not feature a copyright at bottom and features added date line. Certificate is numbered "32736" at lower right. This version of the certificate (as well as the welcome letter) mentions "Action Comics" at end. Kit is missing club button. Envelope shows expected wear from mailing while all else remains bright, clean and VF-Exc. Franco Toscanini Collection.
