Item Description
Large 28.5x36" metal frame (needs hanging wire) with plexiglass and linen fabric matte holds 20x26" stiff paper print. His body is artwork. His head is die-cut cardboard with same front image as the fan listed as Hake #3022 that has satirical Greeley cartoons on the reverse. On the top of his bald head are a few strands of actual white hair, while from his temples down is an extensive mane of white hair that also creates his beard. Hair is likely sheep's wool. Item seems pro-Greeley, rather than anti as is the fan version. Tiny text bottom left reads "Entered According To Act Of Congress In The Year 1872 By McLoughlin Bros. In The Office Of Librarian Of Congress At Washington." Top margin has 1" hairline tear barely showing. Couple long but light horizontal creases below his shoulders. Defects are minor and barely show. Overall Exc. and only example known to us. From the Hake collection.
