Item Description
1.25" with back paper by Montreal maker W.J. Woodburn & Son. One of the great advertising cartoon buttons with each man grasping the legs of "The Chatham Incubator" with Uncle Sam's balloon reading "It's A Good Thing And I Want It, Johnny" and John Bull's balloon reading "Let Go Sammy Your Monroe Doctrine Does Not Include All Of The Good Things In America." Below is company name "Manson Campbell Co." along with locations of "Chatham, Ont.-Detroit, Mich." Cello surface has many tiny 1/16" or less craze lines in the celluloid although they are noticeable only slightly in reflected light and viewed normally barely show whatsoever. Clean and glossy. Among the best farm equipment buttons. Early 1900s.
