Item Description
Original 5x7.25x2" deep cardboard box w/illustrated main lid panel contains 8" tall tin litho figure of stereotypical-depicted African-American man which stands atop 3.25x4x2" deep tin litho base w/built-in key. This is scarcer base variety w/stage curtains on all four sides (ends show silhouetted audience). Ferdinand Strauss Corp., c. 1918. Box shows wear and even aging. Lid has three corner splits w/archival tape repairs. VG. When wound, figure dances a jig as separate arms and legs move about. Base has tiniest trace of wear w/hairline scratch running from front side panel onto and across bottom of base. Tombo is complete w/separate tin hat brim piece. Overall scattered general trace of wear and aging, small paint nicks and scratches. Still has a nice appearance overall. A working and VF example.
