Item Description
11.5x14.5" stiff artist illustration sheet has black ink art great caricature of Wilson and Bryan on a stage with Uncle Sam peeking around the corner in the bkg. A "W.W." tag is on Wilson's pants cuffs and a "W.J.B." tag is on Bryan's cane. Cartoon is c. 1912. and was used in both Hearst's English language and German language newspapers in New York City. Wilson's cartoon balloon has 2.5x3.5" paper paste-over with the text in German, using the name "Billy." The English text can be read through the paper overlay. For some unknown reason, the English begins with the name "Mike" and reads in full "Mike, I Am Taking A Big Chance." The title in pencil at top left reads "The Grand National Opening" and below this in blue pencil is "Three Cols. Germ. Daily." Top left corner has .5x.5" tip off o/w just the slightest margin dust soil. Overall VF.
