Item Description
Extensive lot of 21 pieces, all featuring art from or from the time of Don Sherwood's run on "Sergeant Preston Of The Yukon," beginning in 1981. Sherwood (1930-2010) is also known for creating "Dan Flagg," the first nationally syndicated comic strip to feature a US Marine. Lot includes 10 signed stats (two of which have been hand-colored), a spiral-bound booklet featuring strip reprints and biographical information about the creative team, etc. Lot also includes some of Sherwood's original pen and ink (w/screentone accents) art, 10 pieces in total, ranging from 6.5x17" to 18.5x26.25". This includes six pieces used in the previously mentioned book (two landscapes; one small, one large; Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Alaskan State Trooper and portraits of Sgt. Jack Preston AST and Sgt. Bill Preston RCMP) and two daily strips (each w/two panels). Varying degrees of handling wear/aging, w/most in VF condition; all art is Exc.
