Extensive lot of nine artboards, each measuring 18-1/8x23.25" w/cut-out panels featuring pen and ink original art by Don Sherwood (1930-2010) who is known for creating "Dan Flagg," the first nationally syndicated comic strip to feature a US Marine. Lot also includes 13 color stats (some of which have been signed). Art features various music personalities as the "Dick Clark's Rock Roll And Remember" Sunday page, which debuted in 1994 and featured a sequence of unrelated individual panels, w/trivia about rock-n-rollers of the 1950s through the 1970s and beyond. The title was cribbed from Clark's biography and syndicated radio show of the same name. Some personalities of note include - Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Bobby Darin, Whitney Houston, The Beatles (w/Paul McCartney and George Harrison as solo acts as well), Gary Lewis and The Playboys, The Everly Brothers, Bobby Vinton, The Supremes, Sonny Bono, The Bee Gees, Bill Haley, Michael Bolton, Kenny G, Bob Dylan, Jackie Wilson, George Michael, Daryl Hall (of Hall & Oates), The Rolling Stones, The Who, Joey Lawrence, Luther Vandross, Karen Carpenter, The Go-Gos, L.L. Cool J, Bonnie Raitt, Smokey Robinson, Herman's Hermits, Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart, Sting, Peter Gabriel, The Pet Shop Boys, composer Bill Conti, UB40, Peter, Paul and Mary, The Bay City Rollers, Bryan Adams and others. Varying degrees of handling wear/aging, w/some having panels cut out and replaced. Almost all text has been hand-lettered w/a paste-over correction here and there. Most artboards are in Fine/VF condition; all art is Exc.
