Item Description
4.5" tall stiff card with die cut head of Wilson at top with copyright in tiny text below naming Washington photographer. Just below this is a small square flanked by the words "Insert Pin Here." Text below "Representative Of Woodrow Wilson/Election Day, Nov. 7, 1916/Member Of Campaign Committee/Sydney M. van Wyck Jr./Chairman Of Campaign Committee Of Democratic State Central Committee." This text is finished off by a union bug that includes "San Francisco." Card is lightly tanned and there are creases across Wilson's neck and another running from the back of his head across his cheek and above his upper lip. On the reverse a piece of old masking tape reinforces the creases. Below this is a small spot of missing surface paper where a mounting hinge was removed. Reverse is blank. A rare item in itself and most unusual in that it specifically instructs the piece to be used with a pin and worn. Only example known to us. VG. Ted Watts Collection.
