Item Description
All are lithos from 7/8" to 1". Included are: "Vote Olgin For Congress Vote Communist" w/graphic of sickle and hammer at lower left (two tiny missing dots of paint just right of "L" in "Olgin," VF); "Amter For Congress" (two hairline scratches in field middle left and several missing dots of paint at 3 o'clock, Fine); "Re-Elect Benjamin J. Davis To City Council" (1/8" dot of missing paint just right of the word "To" and surface wear consistent w/moderate use, VG). Olgin was the founder and long-time editor of the Communist Yiddish paper Freiheit who ran for Congress in 1926, 1930, 1932 and 1934. Israel Amter was a founding member of the US Communist Party who ran for Congress in the 23rd District in 1930. Davis was an African American lawyer elected to the New York City Council representing Harlem in 1943. Ted Watts Collection.
