Item Description
Set of three ranging in height from 1-7/8" to 3-3/8" tall. Made in Germany by Hertwig, 1920s. Complete "Little Orphan Annie" set includes Annie and Sandy as well as Daddy Warbucks. Both Annie and Warbucks are nodders while Sandy is static figure. Each has character name and "Germany" incised on backs (Warbucks also has creator Harold Gray's name). All elastics are tight, Sandy has lt. paint wear around name. Exc. Comes w/4" tall Annie Rooney bisque w/movable arms. Made in Germany, c. 1930s. Created not long after the Chicago Tribune Syndicate had scored a huge hit w/"Little Orphan Annie," this strip dealt w/a young orphaned girl who traveled around w/her dog, Zero. Bisque is complete w/yarn hair and attached felt hat. Back has incised text including name and creator Jack Collins copyright. Exc.
