Item Description
3x4-15/16". Henry Stanbery continued arguments for the defense around the Tenure Of Office Act and the Senate recessed early to allow a notably exhausted Stanbery to recuperate and continue the next afternoon. The trial was dragging heavily by this date. The Washington Evening Star reported that odds makers set 3 to 1 odds on conviction. 1.5x2.25" area of mounting residue on reverse. Otherwise only trivial rounding of corners and a thin 1/2" long area of light brown toning at lower left corner. VF displaying Exc. A visually superior example that remains completely intact.
