Item Description
6.75x12.75x4" deep hinged lid cardboard box w/illustrated lid label contains multi-component magic set by Mysto Mfg. Co. This 1910 set is pre-Gilbert as Gilbert began in 1913. Lid features pirate standing over treasure chest w/smoking pistols as Mysto's devil mascot twirls his cape. A skull can be seen in bkg. Label is evenly aged and has some scattered moisture staining. Fine. Box has stenciled "Magic" text on side and shows some corner tip/edge wear. Fine/VF. Underside of Box lid features two coiled paper targets w/metal rims. box contains five separate boxed tricks, each w/illustrated label on box lid. These include - "The Marvelous Vanisher, The Magic Corks, The Great Rope Tying Trick, Coin And Ball Of Wool, The Dissolving Coin." Additionally, set comes w/four envelopes, three of which have illustrations and contain the following tricks - "The Wonderful Moving Spot Card, Fade-Away, The Mysterious Phantom Card Trick." Missing all parts to Magic Corks trick, but o/w contents appear complete and unused and are VF-Exc. Rare set, this being the only known example. Barry Lutsky Collection.
