Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 14.5" long painted tin car w/detailed tin litho interior, rubber tires, plated bumpers and accents including "VW" emblem on hood. Made in Japan by Bandai, 1968. Box shows scattered wear w/edges creases (some moderate) and corner tip wear as well as pair of 1.5" tears to edges of die-cut display lid; each w/tape repair residue. Box displays Fine overall. Clear plastic engine cover opens to reveal detailed tin litho engine compartment w/plastic motor. Battery-operated toy works and functions include - bump-and-go action, lighted headlights and operating lighted motor w/moving pistons. This scarce toy came in two versions, this is even scarcer version w/opening sunroof. All functions work well and toy is Exc.
