Item Description

9x13x1/78" deep hinged lid wooden frame box w/cardboard coverings w/illustrated lid label contains multi-component magic set by Mysto Mfg. Co. This 1909 set is pre-Gilbert as Gilbert began in 1913. Lid features boy reading "Magic" book as small devils whisper in his ear and attend to cauldron, from which magic tricks spill from, leading to Mysto's devil mascot, who holds a skull in his hand which illuminates book. The Sphinx can be seen in bkg. Label is evenly aged and has some scattered edge wear. VF. Underside of lid features label w/same image. Exc. Box shows some corner tip/edge wear. Fine. Box bottom has insert w/circular cardboard dividers containing Marble Vase, Chinese Coin, Multiplying Balls, Mysterious Discs, Ring and Block, Multiplying Cork, The Mysto Phantom Card Trick and Wonder Change, the last two coming in their own separate illustrated envelopes. Center has glossy insert card w/"Mysto Card Tricks" text. Contents appear complete and unused w/original tissue paper packing present. Parts have just some lt. scattered aging/wear and are Fine/VF overall. Rare. Barry Lutsky Collection.
