Item Description

11.75x19.75x1-5/8" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid label contains multi-component magic set by Mysto Mfg. Co. This 1911 set is pre-Gilbert as Gilbert began in 1913. Lid features boy reading "Magic" book as small devils whisper in his ear and attend to cauldron, from which magic tricks spill from, leading to Mysto's devil mascot, who holds a skull in his hand which illuminates book. The Sphinx can be seen in bkg. Label is evenly aged and has some scattered edge wear. VF. Box shows moderate wear, w/tape repairs to all four corners as well as 1.25" side panel tear. Lid also has some edge splits. VG. Box bottom has insert w/24 circular cardboard dividers containing various trick components, including Marble Vase, Chinese Coin, Multiplying Balls, Mysterious Discs, Multiplying Cork, The Mysto Fade-Away Card Trick, The Phantom Card Trick and 1 It's There - 2 Clink - 3 Gone, the last three coming in their own separate illustrated envelopes. Center has glossy insert card w/"Mysto Card Tricks" text. Tricks come w/aged paper instructions as well as two "Mysto Magic - Tricks - Jokes - Puzzles Etc." manuals and worn retailer's advertisement. Papers have a few tape repairs and are VG overall. Manuals are Fine. Contents appear complete and unused w/parts having just some lt. scattered aging/wear and are Fine-VF overall. Rare.
