Item Description
8.5x12-3/8x3" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains A.C. Gilbert Co. set No. 6533, ©1920. Lid features image of boys checking weather station before heading out on boat to go fishing. Box shows obvious edge/corner tip wear w/tape repairs at all lid corners and cardboard reinforcement added to interior of one box bottom corner. Lid has surface paper lift from price sticker removal, but main lid panel remains clean for the most part. Box is VG overall. Set consists of metal components used to construct home weather station, including wind vane and parts for anemometer. Comes w/"Gilbert Weather Bureau (Meteorology)" manual and original die-cut cardboard insert, which shows moderate dust soiling, some moisture staining and is missing 5" strip at right. Set appears complete and shows little to no use. Exc. overall. Very scarce set. Barry Lutsky Collection.
