Item Description
1.5" with union bug back stamp. Button has same photo as that used on the Chess picture sleeve released in April, 1955 with the songs "Bo Diddley" and "I'm A Man". It became an immediate hit staying on the R&B chart 18 weeks for the A side and 7 more for the B (I'm A Man) side. Considered as the first recording to use African rhythms in rock and roll by using the patting juba beat. This button was likely issued very shortly after the record's initial success in 1955. In 2012, the Library of Congress added the A and B recordings to their National Recording Registry list of "culturally, historically or aesthetically important" American sound recordings. NM displaying Mint. Rare.
