Item Description

7x8.75" two-sided promotional comic book insert opens to 8.75x14" and was used to promote July 3, 1940 event which was "Superman Day" at the New York World's Fair. Issued by DC Comics, but only for the New York area. Insert mentions "Superman Parade" as well as contest to find "America's Super-Boy & Super-Girl" as well as mentioning athletic events and "The Adventures Of Superman" radio show. Back has unused entry blank. Insert is evenly aged w/slightly darker top margin. Paper is slightly brittle along margins w/some small tears/edge wear and .25" piece off bottom left corner on back. Some scattered handling creases. VG/Fine overall. A rarely seen piece of Superman ephemera due to being regionally issued. See following lots #1874-1876. Franco Toscanini Collection.
