Item Description

Large and impressive 35x126" fabric banner w/stitched leather corners on back and brass grommets along top/bottom margins for hanging display at Japanese tire dealerships to promote the Bridgestone Corp. Super Filler Structure Radial Tires RD-207V. ©1979 DC Comics, Inc. Banners were produced in both horizontal (as offered here) and vertical formats, both featuring Superman art by noted DC Comics artist José Luis García-López.  Banner features full body image of Superman in flight at right w/mostly Japanese text. Banner shows obvious wear from display, w/1" hole 3' from left w/patch repairs on reverse to .5" and 1" tears. Scattered aging/fading and staining/dust soiling. VG overall. Both formats of these banner are very rare. Amazing display piece. Franco Toscanini Collection.
