Item Description
1.25" without maker name or back paper. c. 1910 for tuberculosis sanatorium which opened outside Montreal near the town of Ninette. The first patient was admitted May 24, 1910 and this "Tag Day"  (charity fund raiser where contributor's are given a tag as a thank you) button was likely issued a month later for the official opening ceremony.  A gorgeous and rare button with woman in flowing gown whose  torch shines a beam on light on the double barred cross symbolizing the fight against TB. On the back, a narrow 1" line of cello did not fold under the metal collet, but cello lays flat and the button's front is essentially Mint. From color plate page #158. Rare. Comes w/Hake's COA.
