Item Description
First is 1.5" brass medal with added tiny 1/16" square punched hole on rim. Condition otherwise Exc. with near full luster. One side, with raised design of a seal, promotes "Gold Seal Oil Company/The Seal Of Satisfaction". Reverse bottom names "International League 1923" and top names "Reading At Home". Between are the schedules when the other seven teams of the league will be in Reading- named cities are Toronto, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Jersey City, Newark and Baltimore. Baltimore won that season for the fifth time in a row with their ace pitcher Lefty Grove setting a league record of 330 strikeouts. Second is 1.25" button, no back paper or maker name, issued for "Baltimore Baseball Federation/Mardi Gras And Dance/1921". Two 1/16" or smaller cuts on extreme bottom edge, likely in the making, all else is clean, glossy and Exc. This is Muchinsky book plate example from page 561.
