Item Description
1-1/8" to 2.5". Wooden die cut pin back reading "HCD Helen Gahagan Douglas For Senate." Reverse has stamp and hand written text reading "64th A.D. Demo. Club." Douglas was an actress who was accused of being a Communist by Nixon during the 1950 Senatorial campaign. She is responsible for popularizing the nickname 'Tricky Dick.' Four Pat Brown buttons including "Keep California First" portrait flasher, two lithos and an anti-rebus split color cello w/brown on top, pink on bottom and text"Is" at center meaning "Brown Is Pink." A 1962 "Shell For Governor!" litho button. Shell opposed Nixon in the Republican primary. "Bob Finch U.S. Senate" button. Finch served as Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare and as Counselor to the President from 1969 to 1972. This button is from his defeat in the 1976 Republican primary. All are Exc to NM.
