Item Description

See item #2271 for important background information. This large, un-addressed, mailer was titled in the binder "Mailing Piece No. 3". It was sent to arrive at Skelly stations just as the program first aired Oct. 10, 1938. The piece was designed to give the dealers full information about the program and coming events (in the third week) that included signing up club members. It begins as 9x12" "Skelly Oil Company Presents", opens once to 9x12" panel reading "To Twenty Five Million Listeners" opens again to 12x18" with three photos of the 7'x3' giant cut-out sign for stations to display and included is one of the three photos used as a vintage, original 4.5x6.5" glossy print. Last the folder opens to poster size 18x24" introducing the cast of characters, the list of 24 stations to carry the show and much other promotional copy.  As folded, the reverse of the mailer is blank and this has all over tan glue stain, but the piece is otherwise NM. Historic and rare.
