Item Description

See item #2271 for important background information. This was Skelly's first contest for Flight Patrol members. Each of these seven sheets is 8.5 x 11" and each has some light tan glue stain on blank reverse from mounting in the in-house binder. The second, third, and fifth  sheets were issued to club members, while the other four sheets are rare in-house issues and possibly the only examples still existing. In order: (1) Tells dealers not to give out Treasure maps before 2/23/39,  2" dia. of glue show through at lower left, (2) "Copy of Chuck Ramsey's Secret Sealed Letter", from his father about the treasure (light glue showing on left and right sides, (3) the give-away Treasure map, slight glue showing and reverse has two full width archival tape repairs to splits on two fold lines. Although widely given out, today a rare premium map, (4) "Treasure Hunt Clues"  instructions to dealers that March 2 program will tell kids to go to dealer to get clues about Chuck Ramsey's inherited treasure (light stain across top and small chips/tears on left lower edge, (5) two copies, overlapping, glued together to show front and back, Clues sheet and CM photo with brown stain top of CM photo, (6) reprint (blank back) of Treasure Contest ad from magazine National Petroleum News 3/1/1939 (tiny margin spot), (7) Rules for contest entrants (glue show through on margins).  See next related lot.
