Item Description
24x27" framed w/14.75x18.5" opening.  Vellum partially printed document appointing "John Hunker" a "Lieutenant In The Navy" dated March 21, 1870. Boldly signed "U.S. Grant" at right and countersigned by Naval Secretary George M. Robeson.  One vertical and three horizontal folds that are now flat and smooth. Otherwise only minor age toning. VF.  Signatures are clean and bold and the document retains its large blue seal at bottom center. Framed and matted to museum quality standards and displaying splendidly. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
