Item Description

This Topps issue from 1966 is among the company's most obscure. It was a single card issued in a wax wrapper w/a stick of gum and done as a promo for Ray Shafer's campaign to become governor of PA (for which he won and served from 1967-1971). The card featured a photo portrait front w/his accolades on the back. The wrapper had text w/"Vote For Shafer" inside a Keystone symbol. What we are offering is the 5x5.5" glossy paper wrapper proof which has been attached to a larger sheet of paper by two strips of clear tape. From the Topps Vault and comes w/their COA. Lt. wear, VF. Comes w/bonus of a 4" inauguration button w/ribbon attachment. Exc. The New England Non-Sports Card Collection.
