Item Description
14x22" thin cardboard for the 1928 silent documentary film, directed by Martin and Osa Johnson, which features the couple's four-year expedition to track the lion across Kenyan veld to his lair. Footage for the film was shot from 1924 to 1927, during the couple's second and longest trip to Africa, when spent much of their time in northern Kenya by a lake they dubbed Paradise, at Mount Marsabit. Poster features image of the Johnsons, w/Martin behind film camera and Osa pointing rifle at charging lion. Top has imprint for "Grand Theatre" w/show dates. Printed by Acme Litho Co. of New York City. Window card is evenly tanned w/age and has some corner tip wear w/more moderate creasing at upper right. Fine overall.
