Item Description
3.75x9-1/8" metal/wire frame contains reverse-painted glass w/"Pepsi-Cola" double dot logo and glass thermometer tube (non-working) set against gold foil insert on thick cardboard backing. 1930s. Has great overall Art Deco design including stepped painted metal corner pieces and wire rope framing. Back has original braided cord for hanging display. Back also has slot w/frayed cloth strap, that held hanging calendar w/name of bottler/distributor that handed this rare promotional piece out. Exc. First we've seen in our 50 years and was most likely created for a regional Pepsi bottler/distributor rather than for national advertising use, contributing to its scarcity.
