Item Description
9.25" long painted handmade prototype of Mattel XP-1960 Dream Car, smaller and totally different than their earlier Dream Car prototypes (see previous items #0000-00001020-1021ounted at center. Prototype also has protruding front fin extensions, somewhat similar to final design. Also as in the final design car, prototype has bucket seats, dashboard w/steering column (steering wheel is missing except for plastic hub). Prototype features that did not make the final design cut include raised center hood portion and trunk fin. Car has metal brackets screwed on underside that hold axles w/rubber wheels on metal hubs. Underside is also marked "0521 Dart" in marker. Prototype has moderate scattered wear, w/all over dust soiling and crazing to paint w/large .75" indent and smaller 1/8" indent on hood and moderate paint wear to rear fin. Wear is consistent w/factory use/storage. VG overall. Unique.
