Item Description
1.25" w/union bug on curl at 6 o'clock. Dr. King accepted an invitation by CORE to tour living conditions in five Nassau County slum communities on Long Island, New York May 12, 1965. He traveled in an open car stopping to address crowds eventually appearing at a rally in West Hempstead that drew a crowd of 5,000. Exc. displaying Mint as made. Very few buttons were produced for events featuring King. Of those we are aware of only one other design that mentions King directly. An outstanding civil rights artifact connected to the movements most visual figure.
