Item Description
"Captain Victory And The Galactic Rangers" is a comic book originally created, written and drawn by Jack Kirby, first published by Pacific Comics in 1981. 11x14" artboard has fully realized preliminary cover pencil original art by Kirby, who has signed in black ink at bottom left. Art depicts Captain Victory standing amidst three guards, one w/word balloon (w/hand-lettered text in pencil) reading "You'll Beg To Die!! When You Discovered The Penalty For Losing This Battle" Large hand-lettered title at top. Hand-lettered text at bottom reads in part "A Man Risked More Than His Life In The 'Space Arenas Of" w/rest of text partially obscured by bottom margin trim. Top margin also has slight trim. Artboard has scattered margin smudges from pencil art, but all remains distinct. VF/Exc. While cover is unpublished, still a very nice example of Kirby's dynamic art.
