Item Description
11.5x12.25x23" tall mechanical steel candy machine w/narrow glass window in the front. 1949. Three sides have illustrations of Dogpatch characters including - Li'l Abner, Daisy Mae, Mammy Yokum, Pappy Yokum and Shmoo. Machine offered four vending choices - "Daisy Mae Raisins (California Seedless Raisins), Li'l Abner Goobers (Selected Spanish Peanuts), Mammy Yokum Craws (Delicious Caramels), Pappy Yokum Delight (???????)." Appears to work, but no product is included. Original key present. Top has scattered paint wear w/flakes off showing small areas of bare metal. Very minor and shallow dent to Shmoo image at bottom right of machine front. Metal on interior has moderate scattered aging. Raised portion on underside has paint wear. Fine overall. A fun piece to add to any comic character display. Due to size and weight, the shipping charges (depending on location and method of shipping) may be substantial.
