Lot of three awards issued to legendary Jazz musician Dizzy Gillespie between 1972 and 1991. 11x14" document from Maryland Governor Marvin Mandel awarding Gillespie honorary citizenship in the State of Maryland. Dated Sept. 22, 1972 w/Maryland foil seal. Exc. 5.5" long gold cast metal key w/etched brass disc inset in key handle noting "Dizzy Gillespie - Oxford, Ohio - 2-11-86." NM. 14" long die-cut wooden key has painted text noting Maui County, HI Mayor Linda Crockett Lingle presented key to Gillespie on May 10, 1991. Some lt. scattered wear but Exc. overall. Unique lot of personal effects for the Dizzy Gillespie fan.
