See following item #2248. 7.25x10-1/8" concept comic book has fully realized pen and ink/watercolor prototype original art on front cover (which has attached acetate overlay) showing attacking bear leaping from cliff towards Davy Crockett, who fries his rifle from the ground. Hand-lettered text reads "Comic Book's First Motion Pictures" and "Every Picture Actually Moves When You Look Through This Magic Viewer - Included Inside This Comic Book" and though it is pictured, no such viewer is included. Inside front cover features illustrated instruction for assembly of Magic Viewer." 1950s. First page has three panels in red/blue 3D design w/nicely hand-lettered "Davy Crockett" title w/circle noting "Davy Crockett And His Pal Johnny Jackson Head For Food And Trouble In Bear Country" story. Hand-lettered word balloons. Davy shoot bear in first panel and Davy and Johnny ride in canoe as Indian secretly swims nearby. Back of this page is blank and following page has five panels that continue story, showing Davy fending of swimming Indian as arrows fly from the bank of the river. They escape, carrying the canoe over their heads. Rest of book remains blank, including back cover, which has aged strip of tape as assembled. Some lt. aging/handling wear but VF to Exc. overall. Something truly unique for the Davy Crockett comic book or comic art collector. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
