Item Description
This is a terrific unlisted and rare item  made for the 1888 campaign as there exists a Harrison/Morton mate. It consists of a heavy sheet of silvered brass (50% silvering remains)  1-11/16" wide by 2.5" tall pinned to a slightly larger blue ribbon which has some light traces of tan tone around the outer edges. On the metal back, left and right edges form vertical slots and hold a 7/8" deep by 1-5/8" wide stiff cardboard which has attached string. In use, the piece would be worn displaying eagle and flags at top with a pair of open ovals at center above the words "Our Candidates". The string dangles below and when pulled down the cardboard slides into place with real photo sepia ovals of Cleveland and Frances Folsom Cleveland appearing. Cleveland became the first sitting president to marry in the White House in 1886. Photos are Mint and rest is Fine. We are aware of only one other example.
