Item Description
Original cardboard shipping carton contains superb quality 9.75x13.25x1.25" thick book w/376 pages (on high quality 100# sterling litho gloss paper). From a numbered edition of 5,000 copies printed in 1981 by Celestial Arts. This is the first edition hardcover, individually numbered "1619." Book features a nice selection of full color Uncle Scrooge reprint stories written and drawn by Carl Barks. Additional material includes a detailed Uncle Scrooge checklist of his Dell, Gold Key and Whitman comic book appearances. Leather cover w/gold gilt title and decorations and a hand-inlayed color plate reproducing Barks "McDuck Of Duckburg" painting. Comes w/8.5x11" lithograph (on archival quality paper) "Wonderers Of Wonderland" that was only issued w/this book and bears matching "1619/5000" edition number along w/Carl Barks' signature in pencil. Book and lithograph are NM/Mint. Celestial Arts shipping carton shows some end wear and is Fine/VF overall. This was the first high end Barks reprint book and to this day remains one of the nicest.
