Item Description
Sizes are 7/8" to 2". Group begins with "League Of American Wheelman" colorful porcelain on brass pinback. Reverse carries maker name "O'Hara Dial Co./Waltham, Mass." c. 1896. Top edge has tiny 1/16" shallow flake missing but this happened in the making as the letter "R" of "American" remains intact in spite of the flake. Still displays Mint. Next is 1.25" cello button showing the "LAW" logo and with lightly tanned W&H back paper with advertisement from "Cameo Pepsin Gum." Tiny 1/8" hairline cello split along the top edge. Third is silvered brass bar pin with "LAW" logo and date of 1898 plus name of "Mass. Div." Light tarnish. Fourth as a figural shoe is silvered brass shell pin again with "LAW" logo and naming the "Mass. Div" for a "Fall Meet '97 Brockton." Fifth is a badge with "Committee" bar while shield shows "LAW" logo with text "1907 Boston Bicycle Meet Aug. Home Week." Next are five celluloid buttons with the first four c. 1896-1900 and the last c. 1920. First button for "Frontenac Bicycles" has tin covered back and name of maker Baldwin & Gleason with fixed bar pin. One of the few bicycle buttons of this early era done in this large size. Next button for "Orient Cycles" has tiny scratch at center but still displays clean and glossy. All other items except as noted are NM to Mint. Many scarce early pieces.
