Item Description
27x40" one-sheet poster for original release of the 1943 Columbia 15 Chapter serial starring Tom Tyler. Based on Lee Falk's comic strip "The Phantom," the serial also starred Jeanne Bates as The Phantom's girlfriend Diana Palmer and Ace the Wonder Dog as The Phantom's trusty companion Devil. All three are pictured at top, w/near full body image of The Phantom firing gun and yelling. This is for Chapter 6, "Jungle Whispers" and features inset image from the serial, w/The Phantom and Devil standing w/explorers. Poster is folded as issued w/tanned strips of tape at top corners and lower left corner, which has 1" corner piece off. Pin holes along margins w/tape repairs on back to top/bottom fold crease intersections as well as a few minor slices to poster. 1/8x.75" hole by Devil image at top. Some margin tears along fold lines. VG.
