Large and impressive 23x33" frame contains wonderfully detailed mixed media artwork on black board by legendary Fantasy/Sci-Fi and comic book artist Greg Hildebrandt. Art features Marvel's Man Without Fear - Daredevil - leaping down from his perch, the position of his body drawing parallel to that of image of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, seen in the stained glass window in bkg. The image is saturated w/the crimson red of Daredevil's costume and the blood of Christ, w/stained glass border details as well. Image ties in closely w/Daredevil's Catholicism and the sacrifice and daily crucifixion Daredevil puts himself through in the pursuit of justice. Hildebrandt was also inspired and fascinated by the idea of good and evil and the mythology of angels and devils. Created Feb. 2017.
