Item Description
See note at beginning of item #2210 and related item #2211. Lot of three approx. 18x24" sheets of onionskin paper w/mixed media prototype original art for ramp walker premium toys, referred to here as "Waddle" toys. 1930s. One sheet shows two different illustrated ramps, one labeled "Popeye Runway" w/sides illustrated w/various "Popeye" characters including Wimpy. Other ramp is labeled "Orphan Annie Runway" and feature bucolic country setting. Horizontal fold at center w/obvious wear along left margin, including some pieces out. VG overall, but art is unaffected and remains clean and VF for display. Other sheets both feature two "Waddle" toy design per sheet. First sheet is labeled "Moon Mullins Waddles" and features image of Moon Mullins as one toy and Kayo on the back of Uncle Willie as another. Second sheet is labeled "Orphan Annie Waddle" and features Annie as well as Sandy. Both sheets have been folded into quarters and are Fine overall w/VF art. Unique lot. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
