Item Description
The Classic Head was a design issued by the US Mint in the early 19th Century. Introduced for copper coinage in 1808 by engraver John Reich, the coin was later redesigned and improved by Chief Engraver William Kneass. Offered here is an 1834 Quarter Eagle, from the first year of this particular coin's mintage. The obverse features Kneass's Classic Head depiction of Liberty w/long, curly hair while the reverse retains Reich design w/the coin's denomination and value inside a wreath. VF Details.
