Item Description
24 pins 1" to 3" plus a 4.75" blotter promoting Carl Zeidler for Mayor of Milwaukee in 1940 when he surprisingly defeated the six-term Socialist mayor Dan Hoan. The following five buttons are from the 1976 campaign of his brother Frank on the Socialist Party USA ticket, founded in 1973 as a successor to the Socialist Party of America. Last two buttons in row 1 are litho. Next are seven buttons from the 1980 ticket of McReynolds and Drufenbrock. Next is one button from 1992 ticket of Brisben and Garson followed by two buttons for Brisben and his original running mate Bill Edwards who died and was replaced by Garson. Next are three buttons from 2000 ticket of McReynolds and Hollis. Bottom row has six related items, the first from 1992 naming the candidates of the Socialist Equality Party.  Next is a 1980 dinner button honoring Irving Bluestone and picturing as well Debs and Norman Thomas. Next are two locals followed by two enamel on copper Socialist theme pins on original cards, c. 2000, from Seattle firm Peoples Pins. Trace of wear on the blotter and first Zeidler button, with all else Exc. to Mint.
