Lot related to conception and production of Borden's Instant Dutch Chocolate premium, ©1962 RKA. Lot includes 11x16" artboard w/black paper mat w/opening revealing hand-painted prototypes of the thin molded plastic patches that were issued one per package. Prototype features the four characters that were produced - Mr. Green Jeans, Mr. Moose, Captain Kangaroo and Bunny Rabbit. All show some wear to paint, w/scattered flakes off. Mr. Green Jeans has some denting to face, o/w prototype is Fine overall. Uncut 13.75x15.75" proof sheet w/printer's color bars for same four characters (pre-embossing) shows some scattered handling wear and is Fine/VF. 3x7" uncut embossed thin plastic card w/all four characters has some scattered wear w/denting to Mr. Green Jeans' face and small crack on Mr. Moose's nose and between Bunny Rabbit's eyes. VG/Fine. Lot also includes transparency sheet w/text overlay; sheet having two rows of four. Evenly aged w/scattered edge wear. VF. This comes w/stat of the four pieces. Vertical fold at center w. some penciling and handling wear. Fine. Lot also comes w/sealed examples (as issued) of Mr. Moose and Bunny Rabbit. NM as packaged. Last item in lot is 3-3/8x7.75" thin artboard featuring unique prototype original art for two additional patches - Grandfather Clock and Bear - characters which were not produced. Each has hand-lettered "Captain Kangaroo" name at top w/their name below. Left margin has some paint marks as created, but image areas remain clean and Exc. Amazing lot featuring some unique items for the Captain Kangaroo collector who has everything. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
