Item Description
2.5" tall by 3.5" long cast iron Walking Elephant by Ives Manufacturing Company. Incised "Patent 1873" text on one side. Elephant has separate cast iron legs attached via metal wire to toy's interior, facilitating walking action. Toy has even aged patina to unpainted surface. Fine overall.
