Item Description
Personal 2.75x6" City National Bank check No. 1193 of Moe Howard and his wife Helen Howard is dated Oct. 2, 1972 and has been made out to Cash in the amount of $2.58. Howard (1897-1975) has signed check in blue ink. Check bears bank cancellation marks on front/back but is o/w Exc. Comes w/mailing envelope w/handwritten "Stooge Fans For Hope" return address and has July 20, 1983 postmark. Envelope has been roughly opened at left and is VG. Envelope contains printed letter from Moe's daughter Joan Howard Maurer, thanking Stooge Fan for purchasing enclosed canceled check, noting that proceeds from the check sale will go towards a special unit dedicated to her parents at the City of Hope. Folded as mailed and comes w/printed sheet noting a signed sheet of Three Stooges stamps would be sent for a $20 donation. This sheet has also been folded as mailed and both are Exc. Interesting lot. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
