Item Description
15-5/8x22.25" wooden frame contains 1811 Walker and Knight print depicting bare-knuckle fight between Tom Molineaux and Tom Cribb. As the underdog, he fought 35 rounds but lost to Tom Cribb in 1810 for the British title. Print has caption noting fight depicted here occurred at Thistleton Gap in the County of Rutland on Sept. 28, 1811. Fight was for 600 Guineas, w/Crib emerging the victor, having broken Molineaux's jaw despite accruing notable injuries himself. Print is evenly aged w/some scattered age spotting at margins.
