Item Description
Well-made 5x5-3/8x6.25" tall copper-colored plated metal base w/gold-painted mechanical metal heron figure atop for total height of 11". Made in England by La Mont Evans & Francis Ltd. 1909. Underside has company name and patent date. Front has inset Ruskin style oval pottery cabochon. Wonderfully designed w/lever on back that operates the heron, which bows down, as doors on top slides open. Heron then opens his beak and retrieves a cigarette from well below. Even aged patina w/some lt. scattered paint wear. Fine/VF. Nice quality item.
