Item Description
High quality 2.75x6x6.75" tall tabletop cigarette accessory by Ronson, 1936. Company markings on underside. Ronson is well-known for their smoking products including cases, lighters, etc. Those from the 1930s, like that offered here often feature great Art Deco designs. This accessory features interesting design that includes die-cut metal figure of African-American bartender, which has been enamel painted and chromed. A stereotypical depiction, the barkeep holds martini shaker and has towel draped over his arm. Bartender figure stands behind chromed streamlined Art Deco bar, which is separated into three sections. This features original Touch-Tip lighter at center w/patent date on top. Touch-Tip feature is complete but has not been tested. Chrome-plated bar accessories attached to lids at left/right, which open to reveal cigarette storage compartments. As lids are lifted, compartment bottoms raise up to make cigarette removal easier. One of the "glasses" on bar top is a bit loose, still attached firmly, otherwise piece only shows some lt. scattered aging and is high grade, Exc. condition.
