Item Description
Offered in this auction as items #1412-1433 are the cover and all story pages to "Captain America" #265 (Jan. 1982). 11x17" artboard featuring Zeck's pen and ink original art for Page 1, a splash page showing Captain America's alter ego Steve Rogers returning to his New York City apartment. Art shows him approaching a group of four hoodlums, who comment on his fancy clothes and decide to rob the unsuspecting hero. Of particular note, billboard advertises Martin Scorsese's "Raging Bull" starring Robert De Niro. Art has been inked by John Beatty. Art has "Stan Lee Presents:" superhero origin paste-over at top and publisher's indicia past-over at bottom. Text has all been hand-lettered by Jim Novak. Top/bottom right corners have been clipped, not affecting art or text. Some scattered white correctional fluid marks, but art remains clean and Exc.
